Finding a New Church... What is Important?

February 16, 2010 0 Comments

If you have been looking for a new church the big question is what are you looking for? There are almost as many churches in America as there are fast food restaurants. So there must be a good one out there waiting for you. Once again, the question is what do you want from your church?

I have been to many different churches. Some were fanatical about the Bible, some had great music, some had inspirational speakers and ... I could go on. If you feel that God is reaching out to you right now He probably is. He is an old master in wireless communications. He is just a few thousand years ahead of His time. Say a little prayer and ask God to direct you to the right place FOR YOU. He has many people that He is reaching out to today. God gave each of us unique talents and He is getting people ready to use them. If you are reading this, you are probably one of them.

God is looking for a new breed of people. He isn't in need of people to recite scripture verses on command or be television evangelists. He's looking for the real deal, you! Come as you are and just be willing to help others in everything you do and watch life changing miracles take place in your life and the lives of people around you. It's a new day, you will see!

Oh, back to the church. Personally, I want to go to a church that people are nice and genuinely friendly. I don't need anyone to impress me with their holiness or their knowledge of scriptures. I think church should be a place where people can feel comfortable, welcome and useful. If you agree, keep trying different churches until you find the right place. If you don't find one grab some friends that feel the same way start having little meetings with each other. Don't be too surprised if you sense the presence of God at your meeting. He's not as formal as many people think and He adores real people with kind hearts!
