People Looking For A Church... What About Yours?

April 6, 2010 0 Comments

People are looking for a church. The numbers are immense! Here is just a quick example. I know that Dallas, Texas is a big example and I will start there. On the internet last month approximately 110,000 people searched for church Dallas, churches Dallas about 18,000 and about 70,000 more searched for churches by a particular denomination. The total was close to 200,000, for the month!

Let's try a smaller example, how about Palm Springs, California. Palm Springs has a population of approximately 50,000 people. Last month there were about 5,000 searches for a church in Palm Springs. Would you agree that these numbers are significant? I hope so, because they are.

The numbers of searches for churches are more than just statistical data, they are people. In some cases they may be people that are traveling and looking for a local church, new residents in the area trying to find a church or just people that want to connect with God and they think that church may help. Are you there churches?

There are many people coming whose lives have been broken, their faith has been shattered, their financial security stripped away. Contrary to some opinions, many of these people were ones that were trying to do good and trying to do what is right while all of this was happening. Have you considered JOB? They need help... they need love... they need friendship and fellowship. They need to SEE God's love extended to them through sincere and honest people. Should they go to your church, or a different one?

The people are looking, should they meet you? Can you simply share God's love with them? Not judge them, not convert them, not quote scripture verses to them - Simply befriend them and make them feel welcome regardless of where they came from. That is what God does, and what God would appreciate some assistance with. Will you be the person in your church to start it? A smile goes a long way.

There are a lot of wounded soldiers out there. The person sitting next to you may be one of them. The churches are filled with people with all sorts of problems. Many are afraid to admit them because others might think that they aren't holy. If the church is going to be instrumental in helping the masses it's going to have to be honest and be real.

God is good and wants people to be the same; each in his or her own way. There are hearts out there that only you can touch, are you willing? If your church is not the one that these searchers should be looking for maybe you can be the light of God in your church. Maybe once you start others will follow. Are you willing to try?

There is no guarantee of some great monetary reward for helping others other than this... God will be with YOU!
